Right I'm going to offer my 2p since
the only experience of something like this you lot have is storming the caravan at NTAC
.
There is no need for that. Some of us actually play at UA, and to come out with a comment like that is just plane rude. The tactics that work for one guy don't always work for another, so we are simply offering our advice, and there is no call to completely disregard everyone elses because you know best... apparantly...
I am not saying you don't know best (you might?!) either way keep the insults to yourself, and is there really a need to disregard everyone elses advice as inexperienced rubbish?

I do know the poster in hand my dear, and I do know they have not had much experience at playing airsoft in buildings so I am offering my advice to them, not disregarding everyone else's, please use a bit of common sense before replying with such an attacking post

Please quote the users post, and refrain from saying "you lot" when dishing it out, when it is aimed at 1 person

Seriously, you WILL NEED pyro to get people out of some buildings at UA... Doing your "super army soldiers" sweep and clear drills might look good, but at UA the enemy will know when and exactly where you are coming from...

And me and Ben will be waiting for your asses.
Nah my opinion on UA is,
Needs more outside cover.
Needs more pro active marshalls, they set games up and then leave you to it. (mostly)
People seem to just jump on the bandwagon of slagging it off, even people who aint been there!!
More of a rotation of games (although this has started happening)
As for people complaining that us regulars are on the same team, we're all friends :S Of course we'll play together...
It's a very good site if you're aggressive, if you're a pot shotter i'd advise FFZ Bulby Woods as it'll be liess vicious.
It's also quite cheap for an established urban site, most are pushing £30 - £45 a game day lately.
Ps about the Pyro, you don't REALLY need it if you don't mind being shot in 50 50 situations and respawning, but stairwells can only be taken by force, grenades rarely help as every top floor has joining rooms to step into etc.

Re: Playing at Urban Assault AKA How to take a building
Milsims at UA are awesome.
Cheating is no-where near as bad as people make it out, no better nor worse than any other site ive been to.
And echoing what Ant said above, course the regulars play together; were friends. Wouldnt you want to play with your friends?
Back to topic, get some support fire down to get some guys/girls up to a breaching point, put a grenade in, then give it your best. Theres no surefire way of getting in anywhere. So many variables.

Keep moving and move around a lot. Also when shooting out of doorways chang what height you come out at. No one expects to be shot at from a lying down person in a doorway.
Talking to yourself is fine, its when you talk to yourself, argue with yourself and then refuse to talk to yourself that you need to worry.

Re: Playing at Urban Assault AKA How to take a building
Thanks again everyone, so what i can take is that...
There are a number of near impossible buildings to Attack/Defend like Garrison, Casino and West Wing. So plenty Pyro saved for those.
Grenades are the cornerstone of taking a building. But smokes inside are banned?
Full Auto INSIDE is allowed
Cook your grenades before throwing them in. They say its 7sec but locals are saying only 5sec in reality.
Friendly fire is rife and a lot of your hits will be your team. So (if non stealthy) shout your team colours before moving into an area you know you’ll get blasted.
Some buildings have built in cupboards that visitors always forget to check so locals will hide in there.
Speed, aggression and squad work always win out.
Half of the squad suppress a window etc while the other half move in.
360 defence needed at all times INCLUDING indoors.
While your squad is stacked up back sure any windows or offshoots are covered by at least one man.
Grenades into a second story window are common.
Most AEGs can’t reach between buildings but Snipers can?
Don’t waste to much time in no mans land as cover is near enough gone.
Silence for as much as you can until it fully kicks off.
If defending make sure the stairways are covered.
Is it Medic rule of Spawn points at UA?

Re: Playing at Urban Assault AKA How to take a building
Correct mostly, however;
* Smokes are banned, full stop.
* Full Auto allowed, full stop.
* Only a good sniper will shoot between most buildings successfully... wind plays a MASSIVE factor in this, if you have the wind behind you most AEGs will have no issue.
* Spawn points only (sometime a marshal you have to touch who moves), Medic rules only on MilSim (in my experience).

Is that to make the site more money or does tlsfx give them lower yield pyros?

Re: Playing at Urban Assault AKA How to take a building
They are restricted on noise given the houses next to the site. Smokes and loud pyro were banned by the council as people complained about the bangs and smoke blowing into their houses. I imagine it is the low yield pyro, they literally just go *pop*, not *BANG*.

What about bfgs? Also what's the take on heavyweight bb's? I use them in my pistols and I get chrono'd at least twice a day at cqb/urban sites.

Re: Playing at Urban Assault AKA How to take a building
* You can use whatever weight BBs you like, but
all chronos are done using .2g
bbs and EVERY rifle is chrono'd at the start of the day, and randomly throughout the day. Pistols are chrono'd at random.
*
Glass BBs are BANNED
, no questioning.
* BFGs are thrown under arm only, and I believe only certain sizes are allowed (again to keep noise down). Whenever I have been BFGs have not been used.
