    Re: Lone gun or squadron?

i much prefer to be a part of a squad but if i see an opportunity to gain an advantage i will more than happily go solo down a flank or around the back of an enemy position rather than potentially throw the advantage away by having a team mate accompany me and possibly give both of us away if caught out.

All about team play, especially when it assures victory :D. There's nothing quite like working in small teams towards a greater goal in airsoft, especially when one squad is distracting the main force while you flank the enemy :D

Its all about squad! Work together, move together... You'll see it work! As mentioned above - there's nothing better than that feeling of achievement as you all take out enemy bases/targets! But, at the end of the day, its ALL personal preference!
Don't mock my randomness - I'm just having a laugh!

i preferre both to be honest, in cqb you can afford to be a lone wolf if your disceplined enough to flank and think things through, but when doing escort missions and defense its far better to bee in a squad where you can communicate.

I near always play as part of a team, its always great to know that you got backup when you need it as well as the comradie (sp?) that you can only get when part of a team. Also helps when you run outta mags lol.

                  Re: Lone gun or squadron?

I like to work with a squad but because of my sneaky, and often uncomfortable routes to get close to the enemy I often find myself alone (my teammates having given up and gone back for an easier route) in a tactical position. THis will work for a few minutes, then eventually sheer weight of fire means I have to move and I usually go and join my squad again

More often than not I end up doing things alone or with one other partner. My experiences with squads tends to be... "We're a large group of tactically confused people, lets go this way..." *Tap, tap, tap* (entire group gets wiped out by Delta)

                    Bless 'em.

                      Re: Lone gun or squadron?

Due to small numbers of players that attend the sites I usually go to, I aim to work in a pair. Has all the appeal of lone-wolfing it, whilst not leaving you completely vulnerable to big groups. At a recent game, me and a mate held a group of 5 players far enough away from an objective that the rest of our team could capture all the ammo boxes and return them to our base and let us win. We only were able to do this due to being a small number flanking, anymore and we would've been spotted outright.

Lone wolf/pair for me, because I'm antisocial and people are stupid. Kills aren't everything, but they sure ate immensely satisfying! I think I'd rather lose the game but get plenty of kills, than win without firing a shot!

As above really, but those sneaky kills are the best, even if its the only one you get that game, if the guy has no idea how you killed him its good.

For me it depends.. quite a lot of the time I'll go lone wolf but thats really only because I like to run around their flanks and a lot of people CBA to follow. I've also found that when attacking a base or similar the defenders tend to shoot more at groups of people and a lot of the time if you're on your own you're ignored and can get very close before they start shooting.

However, when defending teamwork is essential in my experience

                                Re: Lone gun or squadron?

i play lonewolf alot only because i dont know other airsofters who regularly play a the same places i do.

I think proper team work requires playing with teammates you always play with, like every game - you need to know them and get experience of working with them.

I try to be a team player with randoms in my team but I long ago accepted that even if iv got team backup right behind me im still playing alone as randoms never seem to take advantage of anything i do - for example if were assaulting a building, i generally have to clear rooms myself as the 5 or so teammates right behind me generally like to just crouch outside the door until its all over rather than follow me in. and if they DO follow me in, do they cover the area im not dealing with? no, they bunch up just inside the door (doorway must be like a safety blanket or something) and try to shoot at the same person im shooting at and then we all get shot in the back by the guy on the other side of the room :/

When i play i try to do everything myself, (provide my own suppressing fire, room clearing, taking objectives, defending a building ill try to cover every entry point etc) even if i have ppl with me cos i just dont trust them so its basically like being a lone wolf - would love a regular team
