Tactical Pistol Course
10 December, 2013, 14:11
We have a tactical pistol course available in February.
I am looking for feedback from Airsoft players to see if this is something you would be interested in doing.
Our instructors are fully qualified and ex special forces.
I am also thinking of combining a tactical course for Assault Rifle and pistol combined for Airsofters as we do a course like this for maritime professionals.
Any feedback or questions please pm me
Regards

Re: Tactical Pistol Course
I'd be interested but depending on where it is, how must it would cost & how much it would actually benefit airsoft since I don't, or really plan to, own a firearm.

I've got a question to ask about this if I may?
Do you represent or work in conjunction with
the
retailer whose name you have chosen? As far as I'm aware they operate from Middlesbrough, not the Midlands.
There's a scammer operating openly on this forum. Please be aware of who you're dealing with.

Re: Tactical Pistol Course
Details are as follows:
2 full days, 16 hours.
The pistols we use are Glock17, CZ75, CZ75D, Sig 2002, PS 93 Arrow, Grand Power K100 all 9mm and 1911 in .45.
We also have access to Shotguns, Sub machine, assault rifles, machine guns and sniper rifles for further courses.
Its an indoor 50mx50m range where we can recreate many different real life scenarios.
This is a Tactical Course that will teach you how to survive an armed close quarter battle contact. This is not just a stand and shoot at paper targets.
The cost for the course is £650.00 which includes flights, accommodation, transfers, and 400 rds of 9mm luger ammunition. Just buy food and drink.
We fly from Birmingham Airport.

No mate this is a real steel course which under UK law means we have to train overseas.

That does look interesting but I can't see that you would consider it value for money if you wanted to learn to shoot airsoft. The teaching they offer from experienced people is of course invaluable, but clearing jams under fire or managing recoil are not so relevant to us.
The same company and "specialist" teachers that they employ would be able to do a more relevant job (to us) with RIF's, in the UK which would save the flight cost straight away...
That said however, if I had a spare £650 I would totally do it
Not to improve my air soft skills (not that I don't need it lol) but just for the excitement of shooting real guns which I enjoy, and learning how it's done "properly".

This for me too, sounds like great fun to shoot real steel and all that but its not going to be much use to airsofters.

Re: Tactical Pistol Course
Looks pretty interesting and a step-up from the usual "Full Monty" day in Prague which alone costs £120 for half a day. Have you thought about doing a 1 day straight paper target shoot with pistols and rifles for a reduced amount? Perhaps with a little more emphasis on learning how to handles the weapons.

Re: Tactical Pistol Course
There will be plenty of instruction on how to operate the weapons involved. Everyone would be assessed on their current skill level and hopefully over the 2 days this will be greatly improved up on as your confidence grows.
There will be plenty of opportunity for individual instruction and coaching to reach the highest standards you are able to achieve.
Most airsoft players can already aim and shoot a pistol to hit a paper target accurately and consistently and this will be easily transfered to the real steel. We will be taking you to the next level, taught through various drills and scenarios. Your target acquisition, observation, accuracy and speed of execution will be greatly improved which may help you in Airsoft Games.
This is a chance to shoot 400+ rnds of 9mm down range at different targets and from various positions with instruction from a very experienced instructor.

Mark,
What's your instructor to student ratio and what SF backgrounds do your instructors have? 16 hours isn't very long to deliver all the points you raise to people with potentially no previous live fire experience and skill retention from that would be quite low. Obviously I get your intention for it only being an experience package for airsofters, so to speak, but am just curious.
