Re: Single or full auto?!
With my M16 I tend to stick to semi because of its accuracy and range. But when I assault a position or have to lay down heavy cover fire I use auto.

Re: Single or full auto?!
i always have on full auto but do quick trigger pulls so most the time its just one or two bb's flying in their direction, but also because if i bump into a enemy i don't have to waste a perious second trying to shot him on semi just hold the trigger down as im raising barrel, one of them would hit

theres no need for full auto full stop so why use it?
a lot of people wear a tonne of armour. Or just don't like taking hits so sometimes a nice burst is necessary. sometimes you have to really spray someone before they take their hit. ignoring a shot or two perhaps. ignoring a massive spray and risk the marshall's wrath...not usually
can you honestly say you have never shot someone once or twice on semi and had them not take the hit for whatever reason?
both semi and full auto seem to have their uses in airsoft In my opinion...just my two cents

Re: Single or full auto?!
Full auto mode for me. Makes singles and bursts possible without changing.
I read somewhere that's what special forces units do, too.

Re: Single or full auto?!
I know what youre saying Rocking as it has happened to me. But I just can't bring myself to fire the old girl on auto.
Now my G36 is another thing. Being top notch SRC:p, I think nothing of it. But, I simply refuse to fire my SLR on auto.
If I want to put lots of firepower down range then I will bring out the CA 249 as that's what it is designed for.
Use the gun as it was designed I say. That isn't to everyones liking but each to their own and that's what make Airsoft such a good hobby, no particular way is the right way
I also see where you are coming from Caffin and agree you sometimes need to hit someone more than once or twice.
But as was the case at the Mall on Sunday, I came in behind about 10 guys and on single shot I shot the lot of them without them realising where it was coming from.
This was all on semi. I just kept pulling the trigger till their hands went up. Pull the trigger as fast as it lets you and you can fire off a fair few rounds. And, more satisfyingly it felt like proper shooting.

Short, controlled bursts.
I like to hurt people. They like to hurt me too, so all's fair.

Re: Single or full auto?!
also, short controlled bursts.
indoor we are usually only allowed single shot, as full auto can get out of hand at close range, and can really cause damage. i recently had a GBB indoor match in a quite open arena, and it worked quite well.
single shot in woodland however often means that other players do not take their hits, especially over long range when your bb has lost some of its power. players tend to notice a single tap on the back less. a burst of 3 or 4 shots lets them know someone has really got them. still - this can be acheived at semi as well.
full auto also has it's use in suppressing fire. so i won't let anyone tell me i can't use it. my gun has fully auto, that's what it's there for. i don't go overboard with it, but i do often use it when moving up in teams. i also don't mind admitting that i find it very satisfactory to hold my finger down for a moment and drill out 5 or 6 shots. with GBB, this is very pleasing indeed..

Re: Single or full auto?!
I always play with my guns set to auto, but just use controlled bursts. Have found it is alot more fun that way (well for me that is:p)

I couldn't agree more. It makes me cry when I see a full auto selector on an SLR.
Yes, I know some guys did mod theirs during the Falklands, but that's not how we had them, so it's not I'd have mine if I got one. To me, in airsoft terms, an SLR is a big, long, monster of a semi auto DMR, so keep it semi and jack the fps up to your sites limits for locked weapons, then sit back and have some fun.
Damn, this is making me want to spend money again

Re: Single or full auto?!
Always have it on auto unless the game dictates otherwise. That way I can fire the normal short bursts or longer bursts if needed. Simples

Re: Single or full auto?!
Erm I use full auto mostly, but then i have a high ROF gun so it has to be done (I just cant resist) Also its less draining on your battery.
I do use single fire though as i use sniper rifles and pistols as well. With electric i do short bursts full auto as it doesn't drain the battery as much as stated.
This Post may contain my opinions and if you disagree with them Tough S**T!

You do know that you're directing your comment at an ex-squaddie who carried the SLR and not the Fal, don't you?
