    Re: Bipods!

Its one of those things. I've never carried one, but was playing a game at the weekend that called me to dig into serious cover to hold the enemy at bay for a for long period. Even though I only use an AKS74U, I could see the attraction to perhaps having one then. Equally, I'm a nutter who carries a patrol pack when I skirmish, so I just used that instead...

Depends what for, I find the main problem with a bipod is that it hinders you if you need to turn quickly to engage a target. But then again, it does make life easier if you intend to be prone for a long time.

        Re: Bipods!

never really had a bipod for airsoft, but the fore grips with the bipod built in are great for real shooting, and i did have a shot of some ones m4 para which had one and i thought it was great for shooting prone because you could pretty much to it one handed and reload while being very accurate.

          Re: Bipods!

I tend more to using bolties and I can't stand bipods personally. Just extra weight to carry around, and extra metal to get snagged on leaves/twigs.If you're lying prone, airsoft rifles are light enough to hold whilst leaning on your elbows. If you're not lying prone, then just rest the stock of your gun on the surface and risk the scratches.

Also, my problem was I'd always leave the stock set up whilst moving, which never looked good in photos, and i'm a massive poser. fact.
          Bust a move.

            Re: Bipods!

Took the bipod of my m249 cause it was pretty useless as you couldnt move it side to side very easliy. Taking it off also made it lighter. Ive done the same for my rpk.

              Re: Bipods!

On anything apart from support weapons, they look really cool when your gun has a set and is resting on the bipod, but completely useless on a skirmish.

                          Re: Bipods!

bi pod's give long/dmr type guns a very cool looks but it messes up your shooting, a big chunk of metal just chilling near the tip of your barrel will make it harder to aim for a long period of time..but the fab defense grip bi pod (not the huge grip pod) looks perfect

the way i see it is, if its a bipod you get with a gun, it will probably be pathetic, and cause more problems than they solve.
How ever, if you spend a little more cash and buy a good quality bipod then it should be rigid and sturdy and probably prove to be very helpful in the right situation.

                                Re: Bipods!

I have sniper rifles with bipods like the heavier WA2000, Barrett and Intervention but on the more practical and lighter sniper rifles like M700 Police, M700 AICS and Dragunov I don't also I think bipods are useless there's always places to rest your gun like rocks and branches...
