Re: using your helmet
kinda did something similar on a night game i was hehind a barricade in a night game and was unfortunately silhouetted against the moonlit background and started taking fire from the attacking force i grabbed a long branch next to me put a balaclava and my boonie hat on it and proped it up against the barricade and crawled away whilst my decoy was getting shot at had 3 guys saying take your hits and eventually rushing the decoy only as they realise what it is i opened up on them xD best baiting kills ever

Re: using your helmet
i woldnt like it very much at all, if some folk were to shoot at my helmet....
but on a serious note, the ghillie and gun arrangement idea can be effective, as for popping your helmet above some cover is useless...you may get an inkling as to what direction the shots are coming from, however, if the person shooting can get an accurate headshot, you popping up and spraying a bush in the liklihood that you will get the said shooters, is rather unlikely.... the technique that armed forces have used over the years, involves a well camo'd person hiding, watching for where the shots originated from...

i mainly use it , and i believe others do when you are pinned down and know their location and draw their fire to that , then ump out and bam
.

Re: using your helmet
its the oldest trick in the book, i see no reason why it should be cheating as they can't do you for not taking your hits as they didn't hit you

Re: using your helmet
I tried it at my local site and I've been told off by the marshals because the person shooting would think I'm not taking my hits...

Re: using your helmet
you can understand but it has been around since WWI so they should know better then to shoot at helmets that magically ride in a perfectly straight fashion

Re: using your helmet
I dont see whats wrong with it, Ive had people do it to me before I was just p**sed off with myself for falling for such an old trick. At the end of the day not taking your hits is cheating, if your not wearing the hat you cant possibly be hit right?

Re: using your helmet
great, now at the GZ weekender, theres gonna be boonies and helmets everywhere...
I'm just gonna sit in the labyrinth and hold it as i did last year, but seriously, this helmet trick is almost guaranteed to work, unless you are an airsoft vet.
lol
