Burning smell coming from my rifle? :S
2 March, 2012, 10:50
Hi everyone.
I was firing one of my guns today and when I did a 5 second burst on full auto a burning smell started coming from the gun? Its a Classic Army SA58 which has a v3 gearbox.
The gun worked fine afterwards, but I do get that burning smell whenever I use it with prolonged bursts on full auto.
My guess is the motor? Could anyone confirm? Does my motor need replacing?

Could be the motor. Could also be the heat being generated is 'smoking-off' solder flux or grease in general. Likely nothing to worry about.
