over hop!
18 March, 2012, 20:47
As title suggests ive just put a madbull ultimate hop unit with a madbull barell and a tm rubber + nub in my g&p m4. ( same set up as 2 other m4's i have) but this one with the hop off is still sending my bb skyward anyone know how to remedy this? cant think what could have gone wrong.

Re: over hop!
What nub is in the gun? Is it just a standard tm one?

Re: over hop!
I had the same problem on a KA M4 when I changed for one of these hop units. After trying for ages to find the fault I found that the fake gas tube that runs from the gas block into the upper receiver was poking into the receiver too far, and pressing on the hop lever when the gun was reassembled, thus over hopping every time.
May not be this in your case but worth checking nontheless

Re: over hop!
Do a quick check down the barrel with the hop off I guarantee you will still see a raised nub, you need to modify either the nub or the rubber
Edit take the barrel and hop out the gun to check

Re: over hop!
Switch to heavier ammo... utilize the extra hop.

How many rounds have you put through it? It sounds like the standard problem when using all the madbull bits.
Change the nub for a tiny one and that should fix it, or check that the nub is in the hop arm properly

Re: over hop!
Why not use the rubber and nub that came with the hop?
I did on mine, and it sent 0.2s into orbit. I switched to 0.25s and that flattened it enough.
Now it's worn in a bit, there is leeway for some adjustment.
