ICS M4A1 very poor range loss of power
19 April, 2012, 08:30
Hi,
So I'm having some major issues with my ICS M4, initially it wasn't firing at all, it was cycling but was spitting out the bb's. Now I've got it firing, sort of, but the bb's only seem to travel 10 meters, if that.
Any help would be most appreciated.
Cheers

Re: ICS M4A1 very poor range loss of power
compression?...
strip the upper gearbox out have a look make sure you have good compression with the cylinder, piston and tappet plate and air nozzel. So put it all together and you should have resistance in pushing the piston up the cylinder with your finger over the top of the air nozzel.
If thats fine, then you looking at your hop, is it an ICS hop, I had a problem with my ICS SIG where the hop rubber was too thick, so it the hop was on too much it would do the same or not even fire the BB's.

You may of snagged the tappet plate when you closed the gearbox and deformed slightly. Take out the upper gearbox and try pulling the tappet plate forward and back a few times and make sure it moves freely, if not you may need to replace this part.
