  • M4 CQB upgrade help

    Hi,

Im trying to upgrade my standard m4 9.6v mini crane to a lipo system, Please can anyone advise me what I will need to get and replace to use a lipo system. I am hoping to fire at a higher rate.

    Thanks in advance.
    Tony.

You can get away with just the lipo if you're using a 7.4v one. Assuming you've already ditched the tamiya connectors. If you're using an 11.1v lipo then you'll probably need a mosfet of some sort. Not really sure how long the stock internals will last with the 11.1v lipo though.

Thanks, I was thinking 11.1v Guess I will need new gears? piston?

I would recommend a 7.4v. Plenty fast enough for me and rather than spend money in gears you can place it elsewhere.

        Don't forget you need a specialised charger/balancer.

What M4 do you have for a start? Some can take a 11.1v lipo without modification, despite what some people claim.

a normal lipo with a monitor so you don't run it too low. you can run them flat but it doesn't do them any good. lipo about £10-15 and monitor is like £3. i would also get a G&Pm120 as back-up, but don't change it yet, change it when you have to. changing the connectors would be a good idea, i would recoomend either gold push connectors ( like sterio ones) or Deans. as for the mosfet.. hahahahahhahaha.. i run all my guns on lipos standard or modded and they don't all have a mosfet no need if your wiring is good, which stock it is.

things to change / buy now:
            Lipo
            Monitor
            new connectors

            Things that will need changing:
Wiring ( 14-16 AWG wiring is good.)
            motor.

( but as said i am a massive fan of fix when broke. you smack a lipo in and have fun, when it breaks have more fun adding goodies to it )
