Tarting up a Famas
24 April, 2012, 17:31
I really wanted a bullpup gun for a while and I may have settled on a Famas, but my god I hate that hand rail. What I would like to do is remove the hand rail and and replace it with a rail flat against the body of the gun and I was wondering if anyone had done this before and how easy this to do before I invest anything in anything.
Cheers

Re: Tarting up a Famas
I saw that I was wondering if anyone had done it here who I could talk to about it rather than reading couple of year old threads.

You could try any of the other bullpups out there - most of them have accessory rails like AUG, P90, etc.

All it involves is taking a hacksaw to the carry handle and then bolting the desired length rail to the top. There's a big gap where the charging handle can be moved back and forth so you might need to epoxy some ABS over this and then attach the rail.

lol, just googled the "famas g36 mod" seems you can polish a turd! (still looks like a turd though, polished none the less!)

Re: Tarting up a Famas
Does the cocking handle on this model actual do anything or is it just for aesthetics?

It makes a lovely plastic-y thwack. You can remove it without losing sleep.
