TM MP5K

Can anyone tell me if the gearbox inside the TM version of the MP5K is any different to a normal MP5? Reason being as I've just took apart a Galaxy MP5K and the gearbox is majorly different from what I was expecting.

im sure the tm mk5k has a v3 gb and all standard mp5's have a v2 gb

im not sure what version the k has but all the normal mp5s have version 2s .

Isnt it a V3 but with some unique bits - a sort of 2.5? I think its a V3 internals and main gearbox but without the motor cage.

the mp5k's gearbox is almost identical to the normal one.. only difference i could see was the trigger and the motor housing.. but as the MP5k and the MP5 both share the same pistol grip base i dont think it would make much of a difference? i might be wrong but as i stripped both mine down recently ( used parts from the Version 2 to fix my MP5k such as pistol and gears ) there really isent much difference...

Most V2/3 parts are interchangeable. Main Spring, Piston + head, Cylinder, Bushings, gear set, AR latch are all the same.
The MP5K + the PDW use a V3 gearbox without a motor cage as said. The V3 shell its self is identical to any other, the attached parts (trigger, Selector Plate) are specific to the gun.
The V2 would not be practical in an MP5k because the spine of the mechbox would obstruct the stick battery compartment.

Hmm ok, anyone heard of anyone else trying to remove the Galaxy gearbox and replacing it with a v2/v3 geabox successfully?

I very much doubt that will be possible. The reciever will be the wrong shape, and there will be no housing for the motor.

As others have stated, it's a V3 without fixed motor cage, and no a V2 will defeinately not fit.
have you though about just putting in another MP5K mechbox instead of trying to make something else fit; it you've trouble finding one PM me, as I have a spare galaxy mech-box kicking about somewhere, that was if good working order when I stripped the weapon.

Cheers dude but I was hoping to replace the hideous looking galaxy gb with a TM one as I've quite a few lying around and they are far easier to disasemble and upgrade!
