Will a G&P metal m4 body be a straight swap onto a TM m4 that has a plastic body?

Yes.
But you will have to buy a metal one peice hop unit, the G&P body doesn't have the housing for TM's two peice unit.

Many of the g&p bodies come with a one piece hop unit so thats fine
What about mags? Stick to the TM mags?
