TM G36 hop-up in an SRC G36? Compatible?
14 May, 2012, 11:41
I dont really like SRC's metal G36 hop-up, just seems too crude and not sure what it is but i dont really like it, anyway, i have some old JG G36 parts and was wondering if the hop in that would be fine in the SRC?
thanks

Re: TM G36 hop-up in an SRC G36? Compatible?
I changed the hop up unit in my old SRC G36c and it worked much better than the metal SRC one. The only problem you will have is that there is no feed nozzle between the SRC magwell and the JG hop up unit. If you still have the JG magwell, your best bet would be to swap the magwell as well, I tried to use a small piece of plastic pipe glued onto the SRC magwell, as a makeshift feed nozzle, but it didn't feed very well, and so I ended up buying a new magwell.

Right, so use the JG magwell and hop-up? And this feeds fine?

It did for me, better than the SRC one. I found the magwell to be loose and so did not feed very well with any of my mags, but the JG one (I think it was JG) had a much better fit around the mags, no wobble at all.
