Look on the bright side m8 .. If it was a we gun it wouldn't work long enough to build up any heat at all !!!!

In short it could be ANYTHING - with any new gun that I buy either second hand or new, I strip down the gun and service the gearbox, make sure its shimmed correctly etc etc. Then I re-wire it with 16awg teflon wire (only about 2.08mm thick outer diameter). Then install a mosfet. Starting over again and stripping your aeg may be the only way forward.

Can also be caused by overshimmed gears.
Basically anything that makes the motor work harder makes it draw more power. More power = more heat....
