What Li-Po should i use?
22 July, 2012, 22:55
I want to start using a Li-Po in my galaxy mp5k, but after all my experience i have never used one before so i'm after some help.
All i know so far is i want 7.2v not 11.1v as i do not want to shread my chinese gears to pieces.
But im wondering is there a certain mah i should be using? and i also have seen '20c' or '15c' options and im not to sure what that means, let alone what to get.
Would be good if someone could help me.
Cheers

As big an mAh (capacity) that will fit the gun!
As for 'C' rating ('oomph'), 15s are a bit weak. Go for 20c as a minimum.

Re: What Li-Po should i use?
Check the dimensions inside your gun where the battery will sit and find the highest mAh Lipo that will comfortably fit inside. You don't want to risk damaging the Lipo by forcing it in and out, doing so may damage the battery and cause all kinds of problems.
Next check the C rating of the Lipo. You have discharge and peak discharge ratings. Like Panoptes said above, you want to go for 20c at least for both. Peak discharge will most likely be higher... that's fine!
And finally the voltage. As you already know, 7.4V is the way to go.
Good luck!
