M4 motor
30 July, 2012, 14:38
Sorry for all the questions but I’m upgrading my M4 and I have another question about the motor. Currently it has a standard JG motor, and it’s OK but I think it could be better.
What is the best motor available for around £20? I’m after a little more speed.
Also is it best to solder the wires to the motor or use a connector? I’ll be replacing the wiring with thicker wires, if you recommend a connector where do you buy these?

Re: M4 motor
SHS High Torque or X-High Tech "Tubro" motors are both pretty good bets... with latter though double check the grub screw on the pinion gear is lock-tited in place ... I've had one that seemed secure come off inside a gearbox because it wasn't (which thankfully, didn't cause any damage though did require stripping the gearbox to find the screw jammed between the bevel gear and gearbox case).
