What battery to use
2 August, 2012, 21:26
Hi guys, Later this year I'm going to be buying a g&g HBA M14 but I'm not sure what kind of battery to use in it. My friends have recommended me to use a 7.2 V 1500mah LIPO. Would you discourage this or support this on a mosfet. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Ryan

Re: What battery to use
You can run 7.2v LiPo without a MOSFET easily as its almost a straight dropin replacement for an 8.4v NiMH. You'll get roughly the same kind of power out of it.

an airsoft gun will stop shooting way before a lipo gets to its 3.3v per cell limit so i wouldnt worry. i use lipos in all my guns

Re: What battery to use
You wouldnt need a Mosfet for a 7.2 Lipo, i quite happily run one with minimal switch wear
The big thing to watch for is the C rating - look for a minimum of 20C
