Re: gear upgrades blowing fuse
Lower ratio gears means (engineeringy speak here) - motor moves slowly for longer as it requires a greater torque at a lower speed to begin compressing the spring.
Slower revolution of motor equals lower impedance of the motor coils.
Lower impedance of motor coils means much higher current flowing which means potentially blown fuse.
I'd have thought a 15a fuse might be a bit low as well, but then again I dont have fuses in my guns. Maybe switch to a 15a time delay?

Re: gear upgrades blowing fuse
You removed the AR latch because it rubbed the spur?
Well I will agree it's the shimming because it shouldn't really rub. You also kinda need it as it stops the gearbox running in reverse as such when there is no load on it.
You should re-build your gearbox and include everything that's meant to be in there before troubleshooting any further to be honest with you.
It's there for a reason buddy!

Re: gear upgrades blowing fuse
15a fuse is too low for a higher rof setup. With a high rof gun it draws alot of amps at startup. I would replace the fuse with a 30a one and you should be OK.

higher fuse rating ,check shimming and definitely needs the anti reverse latch or those gears will shred in no time,it really needs to be there.
