A&K MK43 MOD0 Barrel removal problem.

Right guys and girls, I have just bought a second hand support gun ie. An a&k mk43. I have managed to remove the gearbox no problem but when I came to remove the barrel and the rest of the front of the gun I have hit a problem which is annoying me to say the least. I have followed the instruction manual online and watched a short youtube video on how to remove it but it just doesn't work with my gun, can anyone help me please? Is there something I'm not doing? I am pushing in the barrel removal lever and turning it as per the manual but the bloody barrel just won't come out, please help me!
