MAGPUL PTS Masada AKM - Tuning and Hop-Up Nub replacement

have read about bigger replacement nubs in this forum:

Edgar brothers have yet another hop nub out for the masada, that now makes three.... we have a nice collection at the shop! the third one is nearly 2mm bigger than the original nub from the early acr's....

Any shop that sells genuine magpul stuff should be able to sort you out a hop nub that actually works, they just have to ask EB, no need for Blue Peter bodge fixes

does somebody know a shop which has got this 2mm bigger nub?

I also wanna know what kind of cylinder i should put in (320mm barrel length) and what cylinderhead?
(it would be perfect if somebody would know a kit with cylinder, cylinderhead, piston and pistonhead, what fits in the magpul pts masada akm)

there is a site of a big retailer that has them, I think there bigger, if not the nub rubber is a lot harder...


I tried one with a gaurder clear nub... way to much hop.... had to use a madbull red in there... perfect

I'm thinking of doing a tutorial for this.

The reason the hop is so messed up is because of the quick change barrel design.

Take the whole hop unit out after taking the barrel out, make sure the nub is out of the hop unit, then re-install the barrel, THEN put the (NEW)nub in, you may need to shave down the dial as mine was over hopping 0.3's with no hop applied and a madbull blue. Now runs fine.
