  • Hot wires and not firing..... Please help :(

Hi. I have recently got myself a g&p srp/a. It worked great. Then the fuse went. Now everytime I put a new fuse in it blows (not the fuse strength). I simply take the motor out, reinstall it and it fires without problem. But it has happened again and I am getting a bit annoyed now. Can anybody think of reasons/solutions that could help me ??? I would highly appreciate it.

Sounds like you may have a short somewhere.... Have you had it apart at all?

Theres a short either in the wiring or the motor plate on the motor base.

I think it must be the base plate as the motor spins fine without it.

The g&p motor connectors are screwed onto the motor :/

:P cheers for the help anyway mate.I will put a bit of electrical tape over the screws so the metal isn't touching the base plate. I will post on here if it works. Fingers crossed.

I had a similar problem with my CA mp5 it wouldn't pull the piston back but would spin up out of the gun. Wires got hot and so did the batt. Changed the motor and it was solved

Sorted it now. The metal on the base plate was touching the motor contacts. So I separated them with a but of electrical tape. It works again now. I have to say g&p motors are great. I am getting 19 rps on an 8.4 battery which isn't bad at all.
