  • No semi and fires without pulling trigger on auto

Fitted a Element trigger unit and selector plate on my m4 , for a while i was getting nothing on semi and it was firing semi on the full auto setting but today it decided it was going full auto without pulling the trigger in full auto. The selctor plate doesn't like sliding very much , if its too tight would it cause this problem or am i looking for something else?

sounds like a simple brand incompatibility, what brand is the gun?

Best advice would be to get a G&P selector plate - they arent too expensive.

Got one but it didn't have the metal strip on it required for the element trigger to work so i though a element plate would be the best fit for it , wish i had got the shs one , was half the price and i bet it works just fine. Does G&P make one with metal strip?

G&P will not work with the element switch , the reason your selector plate is sticking they are made for different types of bearing/bushing size get it wrong and it will be trying to puch past the bearings ( also messing up your semi and auto ) .

What happend to the standard G&P units ? if its just duff wiring swap the wiring over ,

Re: No semi and fires without pulling trigger on auto

Yeah the G&P unit is fine i was just needing new wiring and i thought for the price of the wiring+conectors i can could get the whole wiring loom/unit for the same price and save me the hastle.

The element plate is not compatible with the element switch or is the switch not compatible with the gearbox?

So i should just swap the wiring back over and use the original plate and trigger unit?

I would just use the G&P switch and selector plate with the new wiring tbh , my comment was to dave about the G&P selector working with the element switch unit sorry.

G&P do make one with metal, I have it installed in my gun It's the 8mm bearing compatible one - i had lots of issues with jams before I fitted that selector plate and the bearings were being crushed by the fire selector.
