MP5/M4 gearbox compatibility?
6 March, 2009, 23:02
This may well be a really stupid question, but am I right in thinking that both the M4 and MP5 uses basically the same V2 gearbox?

Re: MP5/M4 gearbox compatibility?
Pretty much yes. A few parts are specific, such as the port in the cylinder, and the nozzle. Also possibly the cylinder head but don't quote me on that.

Re: MP5/M4 gearbox compatibility?
So, if I bought an MP5 box and changed these parts it should work?

Re: MP5/M4 gearbox compatibility?
if you changing mp5 v2 to a m4 v2 there is another thing to look at , is it going to be front or rear wired as the all (i think) mp5 gbs are rear wired good enuff for a solid stock but anything else you will need to change it

Re: MP5/M4 gearbox compatibility?
i didnt realise you had to change the nozzle as well,i knew you had to change the selector plate coz you cant physically fit a mechbox with an mp5 selector plate into an m4 receiver with damaging something, you can technically get away with the trigger but it feels and looks really odd

Cheers mate, I had noticed that, but had decided that I can either rewire it or fit a crane stock. Good to have my suspicions confirmed though.
