M4/M16 Hop Up Bucking Help

Today, doing some general maitenance on my M16, and going to clean up my hop up, notice it had split. Bought a couple of Buckings online, but one has a little rubber thing with it, what is this piece? Will I need it, or can I just slip on the bucking on my barrel, and slide it in the unit? Cheers!

That's the nub that pushes on the hop rubber to create the back spin, you need one or your hop unit wont work
