Upgrades for my latest acquisition?
1 March, 2013, 22:29
Hi all,
I recently bought a Dboys M4A1 and the only upgrades are a G&P hop up and a madbull rubber.
The question is what motor and spring would you use? I started to look into motors and got lost very quickly so thought it best to ask you guys.
I don't want to spend the earth so upgrade ideas on a budget would be good or maybe second hand to keep the costs down.
Look forwards to your replies

i prefer the SHS High torque motor, tbh, give it a good clean and check the shimming. if it needs a new spring use an m90/sp90.

Shimming? Do you mean the wear on the gearing?

shimming, is the process of eliminating too much movement on the gears, which will cause additional wear. Basically getting the right amount of lateral movement between the gear and the gearbox shell. too much and youll get sloppy gears and a loud gear box, too little and youll get a hot motor and additional wear. Theres loads of vids on youtube.
