Bent spring

Took me spring out of the aeg, it was very compressed, flew miles and is now bent.
I'm guessing jut is unusable and wojt playing anymore.
any advice?

had it happen a few times, sometimes they become weak at the bend and break(bent beyond the elastic limit), spring's are cheep just get a new one to be sure.

If you want to use it you could try heating the point that is bent and bending back into shape. Should work. May just be the spring has been well used. Depends how much it is bent. Get a pic up. Personally id get a new one

I'm sure doing this is a rite of passage for gearbox maintenance lol
Certainly worth just replacing to be honest - it will snap at some point and springs are cheaper than gears and pistons to replace!
heating will stop it snapping if you try and bend it back, but will affect the tempering of the spring, resulting in a soft or hard spot that will just snap.

Once its bent, its bent. Springs are all of a fiver so no issue
