  • New gearbox, different bearing size

I need a new v2 gearbox for an M4, I've found 2, one 8mm and the other 9mm. The old gearbox was 7mm. Will it be ok to replace it with a gearbox that has different size bearings without having to replace anything else?

I do believe that will be fine as the size is just the size of the bearing, not the size of the gear shaft.

I'm sure someone can either confirm or correct this but I'm sure that's correct.

Yes, that is correct. People use different sizes of bearings because larger ones can handle more stress.

You just need to make sure it is an M4 one, not Mp5 or any other as nozzles and triggers are different ect.

The bearing or bushing size is the hole cut into the gear box and as said the spindles on the gear shafts are all the same size.

if you buy a different sizes bearing-hole gearbox shell , you will need bearing/bushings to accompany it (many now adays will come with bearings/bushings), as for Mp5/M4 they are the same shell e.g. V2
