Tokyo Marui Recoil Sopmod Buffer Tube Threading stripped.
17 May, 2013, 00:20
The threading on the buffer tube is completely stripped and when I fire the sopmod the buffertube will literaly fly off.
Is there a way to fix the threading without buying a new buffer tube?
I was thinking of epoxying it or something

I don't own a sopmod but doesn't it have the bolt that goes into the spring guide from the buffer tube or is the buffer tube where there recoil engine is located?
As for epoxying it I wouldn't recommend, are new ones that expensive?

get the hard locking ring while you are at it. I never had a problem when I used that

And a bit of loctite.
What happens is as you use it, the lock ring loosens allowing play in the buffer tube, it over time stretches and strips the threads.
