Ics m4.....motor spins lower gears but gun wont fire. High pitch screech

As i put in the title really.
ics plastic m4 lower gearbox works (although quite noisey)
wired with mosfet in stock
just starts screaming and wont feed or fire

upper barrel works in my other m4 (also ics just a metal body)

any help or advice would be welcomed

As its an ICS Split gearbox, split the receiver and gearbox, so that the gears can be seen. When you pull the trigger, do all the gears spin as they should? ICS guns generally are a bit more on the noisy side, so dont worry about that too much.

If the gears are all spinning, then check the engagement between the sector gear and the piston. Do the teeth line up? Has the teeth on either the sector gear or the piston been damaged? Is everything correctly assembled in the upper gearbox?

Where is the screaming noise coming from then?

Swap the motors to eliminate that. if it does the same with a decent motor, your gears have had it.

the pinion gear is loose.
