Gearbox Bearings Advice
24 March, 2014, 12:15
Hello Guys
First time inside my gearbox this weekend and whilst there, I took the time to clean out and polish the gears/shell. I found that a couple of the bearings were not freely spinning at all and I could almost hear them grinding, not good! I tried to clean them out with a toothbrush/fairy liquid and then added gun grease to them, which I now realise was not the best idea. I do have the gun oil/silicon spray etc.
Can someone please advise what the best way to clean them out would be and best product for re-lubricating and how? Did consider just buying a new set of ceramic bearings from ******* ***** but if I don't need to spend the money that's great. Would need to lube of those ones anyway so advice will be appreciated regardless. Maybe the ones I have are past it - came from a G&P Sentry V2 GB, about 3 years old, but only skirmished with 5/6 times.
No body on Airsofters forum replied so I hope people here are more helpful. Thanks in advance
Regards,
Nick
