  • White grease going black...

    Hey guys, quick question.

After a full day, I dropped my gearbox out to make sure all was good. First time it's had proper game abuse (mostly semi), and I noticed some of grease on the bushings has came through black.

I use Abbey silicone gun grease, and I use it sparingly. All the parts were decreased in a mild detergent when I got the gun, along with shimming and AoE correction. It cycles perfectly, the gears spins nicely with the shell and motor mount screwed in firmly. I noticed while I was shimming it that with the motor mount in place, there's a fraction more play introduced, so I accounted for this when I shimmed.

I'm thinking it's simply 'used' greased, those gets spin at a nippy rate, but I just want to check

It's just the build up of silicone and crap that turns it black, it's nothing to worry about.
