Reduce My ROF.... Yes Reduce!
3 April, 2009, 18:00
My MP5 is currently running a standard gears, 9.6v battery and a G&P M120 motor. The rate of fire already is pretty damn quick, plenty enough for me.
I'm planning to fit a MOSFET as I want to reduce the over cycle, but I have read up that the MOSFET can increase ROF again.
What I'm looking to do is put in the MOSFET, but keep the ROF the same, or maybe a little less. What do you guys think is the best way to do this?

Battery was what I was thinking. Shame as spent a week modding the internal of the solid stock to take the 9.6v, lol!

Me!
At the moment it's a little crazy. I'm winding mags every two bursts too. Got some midcaps, but I'll get through about 10 a game!
Sounds good though, people turn around and chuckle when I give it the full auto treatment!

Re: Reduce My ROF.... Yes Reduce!
higher resistance wiring, higher fps spring, different motor....the list is pretty long, it is down to what is most affordable and practicle

Would be pretty easy to add a bigger spring. If you can, without breaking site limits.

Running at 350fps at the moment, so guess spring is not the way forward.
I think I'm going to install the mosfet with the 9.6v, see if it does anything.
After that, come down to a 8.4v, if still too quick, replace the motor.

Just seen the: Extreme-Fire SW-EVOLUTION
It allows you to program the motor speed..... how cool!

Re: Reduce My ROF.... Yes Reduce!
sounds awesome, but yeah i would advise 8.4 battery, but yeah as far as wiring i would suggest mosfet and hi resistance wiring with an 8,4

If i were you, go for the SW Cheetah, It's what I've been using...the evolution is already obselete!
But if you like a mosfet alone with AB, go for SW Jaguar and as whatt they're saying lower power source 8.4 Nimh or 7.4 lipoly.

Re: Reduce My ROF.... Yes Reduce!
Easy m8. Just switch to an 8.4v battery.
Of if you want a ROF equivalent to some ware between what 8.4 and 9.6 v batteries provide then keep using the 9.6 but add some resistance.
This can be achieve by increasing the length of the wire inside the gun or possibly by putting a resister in the fuse holder ñ if you can find one that can take the current.
As you increase the resistance of the wiring loom you will actually be decreasing the voltage the motor receives. You may even be able to get one of those variable resisters with a twiddle knob and adjust it on the fly.
