Re: what wire??
Between the battery and the back of the gearbox, you'll want 16awg or 14awg silicone coated.
I've used both these sellers 3 or 4 times, and they are perfect.
Wire:

You'll no doubt need some connectors along the way.
Mini Tamiya:

That's you sorted :D
If you want some fun, you can mod the MP5 stock to take a 9.6v battery :D

Re: what wire??
You could do but....
eBay: 2 connectors + postage = £2.08
CS: 2 connectors + postage = £3.00
Not sure about CS, but the eBay ones are gold plated too :D

Re: what wire??
My experiences with Vapextech... Haven't been good.
Wiring - related, always been splitting. Not my misuse of batteries, or flinging them about, as a few of our team have noticed similar things.

Re: what wire??
Ive done countless orders with vapextech and I've never had an issue.
16AWG will fit, if you are prepared to modify areas you could try and get the 14AWG in there.
Remember if you do go for ultra low resistance, its a good idea to get low resistance connectors as well, Deans or Gold bullets are perfect for battery connectors, soldering the wires direct to the motor will also help, even if it does slow the take down procedure. You could be using 12AWG, but it would be pointless if the resistance is higher in other areas.
A MOSFET switch makes wiring far easier, especially for V2s.
