Semi stopped working
21 June, 2014, 19:47
Recently I took apart my G&G M14 EBR gearbox and installed a nano ab hard-wire mosfet, modified the trigger trolley so that the trigger pull is much shorter and built up the safety catch lever to ensure that with the new trigger pull safe still worked (even the slightest trigger movement fires the rifle). I also had to put a small piece of rubber between the gearbox and the selector plate which keeps the selector plate pushed away from the gearbox (there is a little movement) otherwise it causes constant firing.
These are all working great now apart from that semi auto is not working at all. When I switch to semi on the fire selector it just shoots in full auto. What is most likely to be causing this problem because I don't want to take apart the gearbox again or undo any of my trigger pull mods if I can help it?
Part of the problem stems from my lack of understanding on how the EBR selector system works in relation to the gearbox so if someone could explain that to me, that would be great and would probably help me understand which part of my mods has caused the issue.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Semi stopped working
Pics might help dude. It sounds to me (and my V6 gearbox-brain) like your trolley assembly isn't getting disconnected by the cut off lever. The P90 has a very common issue with this.

How does the trolley assembly get disconnected by the cut off lever exactly because my cut off lever was being a right bastard to get to fit in the gearbox when I put it together?

Re: Semi stopped working
I have more experience with the v6, but they are all basically the same. There's a protrusion on your sector gear, the opposite side to where your tappet plate sits. At the end of the firing cycle, this protrusion presses upwards on the cut off lever, which then in turn lifts the trolley assembley up, allowing it to disconnect when pulled away by the small return spring. If this doesn't not happen, the box keeps cycling, hence full auto.
