Just want to know what that part of the gun is called when I pull back the hop up chamber as it fell out. Looks like a very quick fix just forgot its name.

Yeah, loaded after I got k tidied you replied. I could be wrong, as the M4 I have here is EBB so I can't compare, but doesn't the faux bolt just sit on guide rails, with the cocking handle arm in front of it?

There's a plastic carrier piece on the cocking handle that catches the bolt plate, sliding it back when cocked back.

Thanks so much I have figured out that the dust cover will only open if there is enough force acting downwards (so the plastic tab hits the metal nib on the dust cover),
On the images here:

the silver plate doesn't work properly when I attach the spring (on the bottom of the silver plate) to the little black plastic O.... are there no videos on this because my gun has a very awkward receiver and it is very different to all the ones shown.

Also is that the right way round to place the silver bolt

Hmmmm... How did it lock back? Did you use the bolt release catch originally?

I think that the bolt release catch would return it from the lockled position. it was really smooth and i was very happy with until the notch on the gearbox caused the pull back chamber to fuck everything up

Re: King Arms Colt M4A1 - Hop up Chamber repair?
The bolt release catch should return it! Does bolt release catch move ok? If the arm isn't sitting in the right place it won't work.
The shiny plate does have a little track to run in, make sure it is sitting in that.
Be careful of the charging handle as the plastic arm on the end is easy to break (part no. KA-M4-37).
