Gears reversing after every shot

Hey guys, so a problem that recently occurred with my gun is that after every shot i heard a "whizzing" sound , after taking the top receiver off and shooting full auto i could see the the piston was moving back forward without me pressing the trigger, immediately i thought of the anti reversal latch being broken yet when i opened up the gun but the anti reversal latch and the spring seemed perfectly fine, and also the holes in which the latch sits also were fine and not deformed in any way. after putting the gun back together, still the same reversing sound and piston moving forward. what could the problem be?

The ARL spring could of gone weak and not reacting fast enough?

thanks that as the problem bought a new latch and used the spring that came with it on this one , and tada it worked, thanks
