motor hieght

my gearbox isnt making any horrible nioses or anything, was just woundering if there was an optimum motor hieght to give smoothest and fastest runnig??
and how to find this??

experiance, only way to learn.
Wind the motor in untill you hear it sound horrible, thats too far, back it off untill you find the sweet spot, which is inbetween horrible and quiet.
Dont fire too many shots with it wound in too much, as your putting excess strain on the motor, more importantly, dont wind it off too much, as this will cause misalignment with the pinion, possibly resulting in premature wear or shearing off teeth!
