Masada Range increase

Hi guys

I wanted to know the best way I could increase the range on my Magpul PTS Masada CQB AKM. Out of the box its good (consistent FPS at 293 every shot, but the range is a couple of meters shorter than an ICS G33 (though the masada does have a shorter barrel at 11.5"). I know a tight bore will help but would a longer barrel and new rubber on the hop up help?

Barrel length isn't very important in an AEG, nor (arguably) how tight, its about the quality of the inner barrel more than anything else. First thing is to get a nice hop rubber and install it right. If your consistency stays good you'll have a little ripper.
Old hands will talk to you about Prometheus purple and Guarder clear. Others will point you towards Firefly (Which I have had very nice results with). Of the newer ones I've enjoyed the results of Maple Leaf and PDI W-hold.

best is an R-hop with a flat type nub like a firefly soft.

Firstly bin the std hop unit and get a wiitech one the total kit is around $45 I'd did mine and it dramatically increased the range very few of the pts Masada's hop units work well out of the box

Get a harder replacement nub and change the rubbee

Thanks for the responses. I have noticed that the hop has very little effect if any, and rubber did seem very thin
The guys at my local airsoft keep recommending tight bores.

1. WiiTech replacement nub set
2. Good hop rubber
3. WiiTech hop up unit or TB barrel
4. Piston/spring upgrades

That's how mine was upgraded, didn't go for hop unit myself been have used ones that have. Promethues have the correct size barrels for Masada's and are worth the price.

Well I got a madbull 60 rubber, m100 spring and metal piston as part of a swap for a m4 body, will these do the trick?
