TM HK416D stock and battery help
14 December, 2014, 13:08
Hello Forum,
I am wondering if it is possible change the rear stock of a HK 416 to a Magpul PTS CTR stock, while also being able to run a battery from there by putting the battery in the buffer tube?
Thank you.

Re: TM HK416D stock and battery help
S**t outa luck I'm afraid bud , the recoil weight is in the stock tube and it runs on a proprietary quick change battery . One option you could try would be change the battery gubbins for a deans so you can run 'standard' batterys then prehaps put a small lipo in a cheek raiser and run the cable from inside the CTR to the batt' inside the raiser ?

TM HK416D stock and battery help
As above. Either need to front wire it, or jib the idea off dude. You could use a stock mounted battery pouch....but not very pleasing on the eye

Re: TM HK416D stock and battery help
You can do it, seen it on Facebook tm recoil group.
Think the battery was hidden in the rubber but plate.
Better to ask on there as it's a group made just for recoils.
Hope that helps

Re: TM HK416D stock and battery help
Good idea , only negatives I could see would be you'd either need an extended butt pad or it would be a mingy little batt in it ! Must track this FB group down and have a looksy !
P.s. I agree batt bags on stocks look horrible !
I've done the cheek raiser idea for a friend , he had a 800 7.4 lipo in it cable up through the stock in to the space (bit of a pig getting the cable in to the cavity) but once done no visible cables .

Re: TM HK416D stock and battery help
cheers. Rate of fire and trigger response is much snappier with it being wired to deans. And 1 battery lasts me all day.

Re: TM HK416D stock and battery help
Thank you all for your help. Pettiglio, I've already wired it to deans, however the connection comes out of the crane stock that came with the gun. Thank you for your help especially. Also, I take it that the battery would not fit into the butt plate that already comes with CTR stock?

Re: TM HK416D stock and battery help
Not at all mate. The butt plate is just a bit of hard rubber with no void in it at all. Your only option really is front wire it or have a battery pack on your stock pal

Re: TM HK416D stock and battery help
You need to buy the 0.7 inch enhanced but pad. And then just hollow it out with a dremel. I also had to dremel into the stock it's self. Just to get the but pad to close tightly with the battery inside

Re: TM HK416D stock and battery help
Thank you for your help. I'm going to go with getting the enhanced butt plate. Seems to be a little less hassle and I get the results that I wanted. Again, thank you all.

Just wanted to know what battery you were using, so I'll know if I need to change my one.
Never mind. Just looked properly at the picture.
