Sorbothane Pads - Noisy Piston
8 April, 2009, 19:46
Hi all, had been reading a few threads on noisy guns and in one thread it was mentioned by someone (sniper_jesus if I recall) that a good solution was to fit sorbothane or felt pads to the piston/cylinder heads.
Could anyone elaborate a little on this, i.e best methods and places to purchase the stuff?
I did have a quick look on 01 but couldn't seem to find it!
Thanks
Jay

It acts as shock absorber, it dissipates the impact power.
Applied on stock/bore up piston head.
I am the one whose heavily discussing it. You can not buy it here in UK yet.
Check my threads.

Re: Sorbothane Pads - Noisy Piston
Is it possible to buy these from overseas then? Or would cutting the discs from a sheet work?
Thanks so far

It is very popular in US, Japan and Southeast Asia.
I got mine as a sample for review here in Europe (UK).
You can buy it in US.Forgot the website though.
It is great for our set up here 328-370FPS of whatever ROF.
My initial test passed with flying colors. 350fps 25ROF and 2 bags of 5000 rounders bb's later and it's fine. Constantly checking the set up at half a bag.
It is not so good in SE Asia as their standard FPS is 450FPS of whatever ROF.
I won't recommend the 1st gen., what they send me was the 2nd gen. and it was perfect.
