Re: Fps drop when removing teeth
Surely that will depend on the spring? :-)

Re: Fps drop when removing teeth
No as you get a stronger spring I need to know how much fps per tooth

Re: Fps drop when removing teeth
But surely if you're removing teeth then you're changing the stroke length of the piston, and the effect of that change in stroke length will depend on the strength of the spring...

Re: Fps drop when removing teeth
It depends on a lot of things, an AVERAGE may be around 12. There's no exact number because you're talking a difference of +/-2.5FPS.
Think of it as a percentage of the total power you're currently outputting. Airsoft is not an exact science, if it was, there would be no difference between M100 springs from different manufacturers.

Re: Fps drop when removing teeth
What spring is currently fitted? Do you know the FPS before it was short stroked? If so, you can find out the percentage of loss against the current FPS, which would give you a good idea.

Re: Fps drop when removing teeth
The question is, why is it short stroked in the first place? Is it a high RoF build?

Re: Fps drop when removing teeth
A new spring is about a tenner tops. I would hazard a guess that it's an M90/100 that's fitted. I have an M90 shooting at 280 due to a 110mm barrel. I would try a 110 and see how it chronos. Be aware that a stronger spring will decrease your RoF.
Mind, a high RoF with 340-350 fps could be considered overkill if you use full auto often. I would say anything over 25rps is getting sadistic. If you're simply after trigger response, have at it, but otherwise consider using a MOSFET that can limit RoF.

Re: Fps drop when removing teeth
Well, based on your numbers, and the tested velocity of the SHS M110...
Current = 290 fps
SHS M110 = 350 - 380 fps
Power Loss = 17 - 24% (rounded off)
Average per-tooth power loss =
15 - 22 fps
Average per-tooth percentile loss =
4.25 - 6%
An SHS M130 should get you around 340 - 360 fps, but there's a good chance my math is wrong ha! Don't forget all the variables. I would check you cyclinder compression, nozzle and airseal first.
