m16 s system problem

whats happening is this
works ok on semi but on auto it will run and only now and then pickup a bb and sometimes fire two at a time.
things i have done
replaced hop rubber, checked hop isnt on too much or too little mag feeds fine no matter what mag goes in it still does the same.
they are good quality bb's.
am i looking at a tappet plate problem here.
i also have a g36 thats doing exactly the same thing!!!
arghhh help pls
would a tappet plate delayer help at all

Which bbs are you using; they seems like the most likely cause of the issue as they are the only two variables being kept the same on both the rifles?

Also what is the rough spec of the rifle in the sense of ROF and have you changed any parts out from stock-if so which bits and what make rifle is it?
