Cyma AK47 tactical - FPS issue

A friend of mine has just brought a Cyma AK47 tactical.

He was told it was around 300fps

he took it to our local site last night and used it for the first time.

and it only chronoed 174 FPS on 0.2 bbs.

I've suggested he takes it back to the shop.

What are peoples thoughts & feelings on this?

If you've not invalidated the warrantee take it back to the shop. No fun chasing around a gearbox if you dont have to.

100% as figjam said. Should they be funny about it (some airsofting shops aren't the best) , you'll want to check out the sales of goods act.

took it back to the shop

They chroned it at 280 worse case with full hop was 240..

so unsure what happened there, maybe he wasnt aiming straight when at the site

My frustration is the gun was adverised and in fact still is at 300-330.

BUT if you read the instructions that come with the RIF, Cyma claim its 280 FPS

Never believe airsoft shops' fps figures. However, if they advertised it at 300-330, they should set it to that if it is not at it.
