  • Internal upgrade advice

Hi folks , I currently have a stock G&P LMT defender m4, looking to do some upgrades , my rof is ok at about 29 per second , looking for more distance and accuracy and maybe make it a bit quieter , got a silent piston head and silent cylinder head to install , should I be upgrading anything else gears , piston etc , also any recommendation for tight bore and hop would be appriciated

    Thanks

    Re: Internal upgrade advice

    What's the current fps?
    • Silent piston/cylinder heads don't make a big difference imho
    • Sorbothane for AOE correction will slightly improve noise also
    • Standard hop unit should be fine, flat hop it for .25/.28g ammo
    • Quality steel barrel 6.03/6.05 with square cut hop window
    • Stabilise inner barrel with PTFE tape, wedges, spacers etc
    • Gears are fine if you're getting 29rps (assume you're using 11.1 lipo with a mosfet)
    • Piston is fine as long as AOE is corrected to avoid tooth wear etc.
    • Lighten piston for added rps if using a lighter spring than say 120.
    • Shim and grease gears correctly to reduce noise and wear

Pretty cheap stuff you can do (apart from a decent barrel) to increase accuracy (reduce barrel wobble, optimum bore, consistent hop on heavier ammo) and reduce noise (piston impact, gear whine)

    My 2 cents

        As above.

Also R-Hop your barrel (for even more range).
Radius the gearbox shell (you could very easily crack it shoving 30rps through that thing).
