Tm fa-mas f1
27 May, 2010, 13:17
Hey all,
I am wondering which would be the best way to go to get the most from my latest acquistion; A Tokyo Marui FA-MAS F1.
It is in a good working order after I gave it a test this morning in which I checked the range, rate of fire and fps. The range was effective to 45 metres which was pleasingly surprising. Though the accuracy at that range wasn't fantastic, still could hit an A4 sized target though. The ROF was relatively okay at 18 RPS as was the FPS, which was 220 with a 3 -/+ FPS differencial.
Now, here is what I want to achieve; FPS of 300 fps, and increase of accuracy without going too high on the RPS. Could this be achievable?
In my mind I think I will need a sping change, suitable gear's and anti reversal latch, hop rubber, air nozzle and tightbore barrel.
Any advice on how to go about this and what components could work for this project would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance.

Re: Tm fa-mas f1
Thanks Fizzy, but more information relevant to the parts available for the FA-MAS and which can be used would be much more informative. I have broken down GB's before AND upgraded AEG's before, but I haven't tackled a Fa-Mas one ever and I figured I would ask for help beforehand.
For instance, anyone who has upgraded a FA-MAS before and could help point me in the right direction would be appreciated.

Re: Tm fa-mas f1
Dont know how much help this is but ive made some minor mods to my Famas, I put a supposedly "Reinforced" piston and piston head in to accommodate for the 1 joule spring, However after about 2 hours of skirmish It Decided to reject the Transplant and smashed the piston head to bits, so I put the original TM piston head back on with the 1 j spring and now fires at 300fps with a faster rate of fire, This in turn has killed the anti reversal latch which was always going to happen I was told after the upgrade, P.s bits for an Version 1 gearbox are pretty hard to find so if you know of anywhere good let me know lol
