Outer Barrel alignment Help

Hi everyone,

Hoping someone can offer a bit of help with this one. I recently bought a new outer barrel from A.P.S, 14.5" to go on my GBB LVOA style M4. The original barrel was a bit mangled up and I thought a new one would be a bit better. However, when I attach it to the upper it sits wrong, pointing over to the left!! If I correct this by sticking a narrow spacer on the left between barrel and receiver and then threading the nut over it then makes the rail point over to the right too much! How is it that a brand new outer barrel can be like this. Am I better off filing some of the barrel collar down a bit?

I'm totally lost.....
