What are deans connectors?
24 April, 2009, 18:28
I am thinkng of getting a G&P gearbox for an M16 project i am about to start, but it comes with deans connectors.
How do i get deans connectors to put onto batteries and how do i put them on?
Also what is the difference!
Thanks
Cam.

Re: What are deans connectors?
It's just a type of connector, like the tamiya one they come with as standard. These ones are more like blades, and apparently are better. All you'll need to do is buy some deans, cut off the old ones, and attach new ones.

Re: What are deans connectors?
Deans connectors are just the same sort of thing as tamiya connectors as they have both a male and female (female on batt, male on gb) they just connect and can be done with some solder and a soldering iron, put some heatshrink for a clean and covered connection.

Re: What are deans connectors?
Also can you just put a male deans connector on a normal charger and charge like that? into the female on the batt?

Re: What are deans connectors?
Well what charger you got? If you using the cheapo one that came with the gun, then maybe it is time to grab something like a Pro Peak charger. They just give the contacts, and you can wire up all sorts of plugs, deans, mini tamiya, large tamiya etc and swap as required.

Re: What are deans connectors?
i have a decent variable with multiple adaptors, i normally just make a new adapter for different females on batts. just wondered whether that would work on a deans. but it sounds like it will? so thanks.
