AGM MG42 Magazine Upgrade Advice
25 August, 2017, 10:17
Hi all,
I've been messing around with my AGM MG42 for a while, have replaced just about everything, to make it fire accurately at around 30-35 rps on 11.1 lipo. The problem which I'm having now is that the magazine will not feed. It works perfectly on 7.4 lipo at around 25 rps, however I believe that the mag motor does not have high enough torque/rpm to feed fast enough.
Looking for any advice on whether this problem may be caused by the mag motor being inefficient, or whether something to do with the movement of the nozzle at this high rps may have an effect (such as not fully retracting before firing again).
Any tips appreciated.
Thanks

If you're right that it's the nozzle that's too slow, you might get a better result by installing a sector gear delayer. It's basically a piece of plastic that makes the tappet plate (thus the nozzle) retract earlier and stay open slightly longer. That would give it more of a chance to load a BB if there is one waiting from the mag!
