Ics M4 gearbox or piston locking?
28 June, 2010, 18:08
Got a problem with an ics M4 I'm not totally sure what's at fault but assume it's gearbox or piston
Basically it fires for a short period then locks up with no noises audible when trigger is pressed just motor gets hot, hence something is jammed. Pressing the spring release on the side doesn't release spring tension when fault happens, tension in something is release when I lever the upper body from gearbox
Any pointers appreciated

If it 'fires for a short period' the motor is connected the right way.
I'm 90% sure that standard V2 gearbox lockup. Your entire gearbox needs a clean.

It's a split gearbox if that changes anything and motor works fibe

Took the gearbox apart and found yaw control lever wasn't moving smoothly aswell as the trigger switch and a shim was bent on the piston gear
Put it back together and all seems well
